A positive side achievement has been the transformation of a paper based to an electronic environment. As a DON, my favourite ‘parts’ of the program include : - Being able to quickly scan progress notes – so I always know what’s going on with resident care.  Family members are so reassured when you can give them answers straight away. And I can find the information they need instantly. - I can set follow up alerts for staff, so nothing gets missed. - An entire suite of integrated quality assessments and care plans are included that give consistent information at all times. They are all there to start with, so I haven’t had to waste time setting everything up just so I can use the program, yet we can change and add to all of them as an organization, as necessary. - Audit tools such as weight lists, incident tracking, infection tracking and many more are automatically created for us. - The Communications diary and task lists also include follow up alerts – I don’t need to rely on my memory. - There is no duplication of effort or information, the ‘workflow prompts’ set throughout this program have helped staff immensely, and I then know that our procedures are then followed.
